It’s Sunday - tomorrow I go to work. My friend Charles introduced me through email to a lovely lady named Nicky. She came today and showed me how to work the toaster oven, the rice cooker, and the microwave! YAY! She also DROVE me back to the market where I purchased more groceries (also YAY).
Fun fact - for the last few days I have been drinking “fake beer” Baaaa Haaa! When I was in the Market with Nicky and I went to grab a six pack - she shook her head and said, “that is not real beer”. Cool - I wondered why the only effect from said beer was the usual “burp” one has when one drinks a “beer”. Time for me to learn how to read Japanese characters… yeesh.
Tonight, I met the ALT’s (Assistant Language Teachers) from the JET program. Scott is from New Zealand and Matthew is from Calgary. We had dinner. I am not sure Kamikawa is the same as when I was last here four years ago. Time will tell.
