I’M HAPPY

I know it is an interesting title and seems irrelevant? But I assure you it is not…

I am happy!

Don’t get me wrong - I have had a fabulous life with amazing experiences. I have an AMAZING family - husband and two sons!! They are the best! I have had a successful career… so many incredible kids and families and lots of amazing recognition (to be clear - the least important thing of all)! BUT - I am happy! Life - Is - Hard - Work!

Man - I worked hard - at everything… and it was worth it!!!

It was hard work raising kids (SO WORTH IT) and marriage is also hard work! You know - I worry about young people for that reason - marriage is hard work! But - it is SO worth it! The ups and downs - the commitment - raising children and going through hard times - experiencing all the highs and lows together - over ALL those years - WOW!! It is THE BEST!!

BUT - I feel SO content!! I have a great husband - two amazing sons (and Lexi) - OKAY - and Frankie and Miso!! I have my mum and my sister - Mark’s family - and SO MANY fabulous friends!!

I know what Freedom 55 feels like (in this case 57 and I am technically still working)! It was always on TV in the 80’s and it is freeing!! Maybe I don’t have the most money but I have the freedom of experience and “putting in the time”!

I am having a glass of wine - I hung out at Kamikawa High School today where kids were excited about “Festival”! I may not be reaching everyone and exciting everybody about learning English BUT - I am in Japan!! My husband is joining me in 5 SLEEPS and I am able (thanks to technology) to stay close with both friends and family! And did I mention that I live in JAPAN?!

I may not be able to right every wrong in the world… but I AM HAPPY!!
