Osaka is a big, international city in Japan. It is known for its street food and it has a fabulous aquarium… oh - and it has Universal Studios Japan!
We hit the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukai the first day and then the Osaka Castle. The number of people in the aquarium was crazy! I still don’t know how we didn’t end up with Covid on this trip, even with masks on! The castle was beautiful but it does not hold a candle to Kyoto. The coolest thing was that the giant blocks you can see all over the place were moved in one piece - they were huge!! The aquarium was also cool - the giant tank that the aquarium centers around was amazing!
You already heard about USJ!! We also browsed through Jurassic Park, Jaws, Nintendo World and of course, Snoopy Land!! Mark was still adjusting to retirement on this trip so he hit up an expert for some “psychiatric” help!! (see photo).
PS. Don’t forget that it was in Osaka that we stayed in a hotel with free ice cream, free ramen for an hour every night, and free alcohol! Good job (Ine) Mark!!
